After a miserable last two games where they allowed a combined 97 points, the Buffalo Bills were able to pull out a 19-16 win in overtime against the Arizona Cardinals.
The Bills started off badly. Fred Jackson fumbled on the first drive, handing the ball to the Cardinals. But the Bills defense showed up this game, and held Arizona to a field goal. The defense forced Arizona to two more crucial field goals in the fourth quarter, one a 61-yard stunner to tie the game, and the other a 38-yard miss that sent the game into overtime due to the tip by Bills Alex Carrington.
Ryan Fitzpatrick was much steadier this game, going 18 of 32 for 153 yards. The rest of the offense did its part with the rushing game as well. C.J. Spiller had 88 yards over 12 carries and a touchdown, while Fred Jackson carried 16 times for 53 yards and a touchdown.
The Bills Jarius Byrd, slow in practice due to chest pains, turned out to be the game changer though. His second interception of the night set up Rian Lindell’s 25 yard field goal in overtime that led to the win.
Buffalo is now 3-3 and is set to face the Titans next week.
